The next generation Fiat Punto was spotted, and we can see in the spyshots, revealing a few design details and features. The nex gen Punto was spied doing some test rounds and was covered with wraparounds. And the new Punto has many other goodies in it, be it interior, exterior, or even about the power package.
The spyshot shows a 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel and instrument cluster that appear to borrow from the Fiat Tipo, while the centre console has just four buttons in the middle and HVAC controls below it. The centre console features a button called ‘City’, which is likely to be a feature to improve fuel efficiency of the vehicle within city conditions. It also features ESP, engine start/stop system and a manual HVAC system, while an automatic climate control could be offered in top-ranging model. It could also feature a UConnect infotainment system, which integrated as a freestanding display.
Reportedly, the New Fiat Punto could be three petrol variant 1.4 GSE (Global Small Engine) platform that is expected to produce around 100 HP and about 140 Nm, the E-Torq 1.6-litre motor and the E-Torq 1.8-litre mill. As we can see in the spyshot, it gets an automated manual transmission with paddle shifters on the steering wheel.
As of yet, Fiat India has not confirmed their plans to introduce the next generation versions of the Punto, but we expect it to launch in the first half of the 2017.
