Honda is working on the next generation Brio hatchback that is expected to make its global debut at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) that is scheduled to take place during 2-12th August, 2018. Expect the Japanese automaker’s entry level hatchback to receive a wide range of design and feature updates in the next generation model. We can hope the new Honda Brio to arrive in Indian market sometime later this year.
Honda launched the first generation Brio hatchback back in 2011 and the facelifted version was introduced to the world at the IIMS 2016. In that case, the upcoming model will be the majorly overhauled one. While we are still in dark about the upcoming model’s details, but it could receive some styling inspiration from the Small RS Concept that was displayed at the IIMS 2018. It is expected to get restyled sharper headlamps, revised taillights. There would be projector headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights.

The front grille, bumpers, side profile and tailgate will also come with redesigned appearance. There would be new design sporty and stylish alloy wheels. We can expect it to get some inspiration from the current Honda Amaze sedan. Inside the cabin as well, it could draw some inspiration from the Amaze and look upmarket compared to the current one.
We can see the next generation Honda Brio to get the same engines as the current Honda Amaze available in Indian market. In that case, it will come available in both petrol and diesel options. The petrol variant gets energy from a 1.2-litre iVTEC engine and the diesel variant gets a 1.5-litre unit. Transmission options would include a 5-speed manual gearbox and a CVT as well. So far, the next generation Honda Brio is going to be an exciting product from the brand.
