Next generation Jaguar XJ L caught testing

Snapshot: The Jaguar XJ L has been caught testing and from the spy pictures, it seems that new car would be a mere facelift rather than a full refresh

If vehicles have to denote the exorbitant level of luxury then there is nothing better than the flagship sedans from the stable of premium manufacturers. The likes of Audi A8 L, Mercedes Benz S-Class, BMW 7 series or the Jaguar XJ L, talk about any of them and the first thing that hits the mind is the luxury that they come loaded with. The German manufacture, Mercedes-Benz recently updated their flagship sedan, the S-Class thoroughly with host of changes all around the car. Now the Tata owned Jaguar is testing their flagship the XJ in United Kingdom and we got our hands on few spy pictures.

According to the spy pictures, the updates the car will receive will be limited to only facelift and not a full-fledged upgrade over the last generation. Jaguar is testing the car with camouflage only on the front hood, trunk, front grille and air scoops which translates into a theory that the British manufacturer has only worked on the front fascia, bumpers. The front headlapms, the rear L-shaped brilliant looking taillamps are here to stay with next update.

Jaguar always puts the interiors on priority and updates the same with top-notch quality and luxury. The new facelift might carry updated infotainment system and new luxury features but as of now, we are not expecting any radical in the facelift. The minor update will put the premium sedan talks again and might bump up the sale number for the company.

In India, the XJ L comes with 4-engine options namely 2.0 litre petrol unit with a power figure 240PS and top speed of 225 km/h, a 3.0 litre Supercharged petrol unit with maximum power of 340 PS and top speed limited to 250 km/h, a 3.0 litre turbocharged diesel with maximum power rating of 275 PS and top speed of 250 km/h, a 5.0 litre Supercharged petrol with mammoth 510 PS generated under the hood and the top speed limited to 250 km/h.

The testing might be in its last stages and the new facelift Jaguar might land in the showrooms by the start of the next year.
