Competition is good, both for the companies as well as for the consumers. But the fun part comes competition is in-house, rather than the external world. One such latest example is between the two luxury car brands of the Volkswagen group. Volkswagen group is the biggest automotive group and owns some of the most exotic and luxury car brands, which leads to an unwanted yet necessary competition.
Speaking of which, the Porsche R&D centre is saying that they are in the process of building the fastest and luxurious SUV of the world, which otherwise, the sister firm, Bentley is claiming after the launch their much anticipated Bentley Bentayga. Wolfgang Hatz, Porsche R&D head has challenged the Wofgang Durheimer, CEO, Bentley's claim that upcoming Bentayga will be the fastest SUV in the market.
In a recent interview given to Car and Driver, Hatz says that Bentley won't be king for long, as the next generation Porsche Cayenne Turbo S would be the fastest SUV on Earth. Hatz says that the next version will be even faster. "Our Cayenne is always very very quick. It is doing 300 km/h [186 mph]. I think if [Dürheimer] is doing 2 to 3 km/h more, then why not? He's doing that with a 12-cylinder. Our car will be much quicker on the road."
To slightly jog your memories, Porsche just released the new Cayenne Turbo S in Detroit, touting it as the first SUV to crack the eight-minute barrier at the Nürburgring. Hatz says that the next generation Cayenne will benefit from the weight loss as did the new Audi Q7 and will come with the new generation of engines. The combinations surely will help Cayenne achieve the status, Hatz is promising.
All-in-all, we are really happy that something big is about to come. An SUV above 300kmph surely deserves all the accolades and attention!
