Next generation Volkswagen Passat spied

Snapshot: Next generation of the Volkswagen Passat has been spied under wrap. The new model might come to the market in 2016.

Volkswagen Passat, one of the premium cars from the German manufacturer is all set to receive new changes for the next model and the work has been already started on the same. The new model of the Passat was caught testing wrapped completely under the camouflaged.

The new version will be based on the newly developed MBQ platform, which has been incorporated extensively by Volkswagen and its subsidiaries to make the new models. Volkswagen new Passat will see a huge change from the current model and the heavily camouflaged test mule confirms that. New Passat will be more muscular and energetic to look at. The new model will carry many changes, which will make the new Passat even better to look at.

Next generation Volkswagen Passat

The new Golf – one of the largest selling models in the world was recently launched with new and interesting engine options, the Passat in that matter, will also carry new engines under the hood. Volkswagen is known for their diesel TDI models for their reliability and performance and the new Passat will carry the same 2.0 TDI mill with a fresh life of close to 200 bhp!

Volkswagen Passat 2016

The test vehicle did not reveal much about upcoming car though! Looking closely at the model, the test mule did not feature any LED headlights and the wheels looked similar to the current model of the Golf. The new Passat will supposedly come to market around 2016 as the car still looks amateur and Indian market can expect the update somewhere around late 2016. For the 2015 models, Volkswagen has already announced the new turbo-charged engines, which will do their duty in the 2015 Passat, on the similar lines of the Golf.
