Nico ends Hamilton’s winning streak, wins Spanish Grand Prix

Snapshot: Nico's first win of the season, beats team mate - Hamilton to acquire pole position.

Nico Rosberg got his first the pole position in the fifth race of the 2015 F1 grand prix in Spain. The overall leader (so far) – Lewis Hamilton got 20 points after he came in second by 17.55 seconds slower. The pole position for Nico has come after a long wait period; the last win was in the last November’s Brazilian Grand Prix.

The third position was taken by the Ferrari driver – Sebastian Vettel ahead of Valtteri Bottas of Williams and Kimi Raikkonen who ended fifth in Ferrari. Daniel Ricardo in his Red Bull ended seventh behind the Brazilian Felipe Massa who got the sixth position in his Williams. The Spanish driver – Carlos Sainz beat his team mate Toro Rosso in a close battle and finished ahead of him.

The season has been so far disappointing for the McLaren Honda team which has not managed to get points. Fernando Alonso had to retire from the race early due to the brakes failure after an incident in which he almost collided with his own pit crew member. In another incident Grojean hit mechanic of his team, fortunately, he was not severely injured.
