Nissan coming with Smart Rear View Mirror at New York Auto Show

Snapshot: Nissan will showcase world's first LCD display rear view mirror at the New York Auto Show next week

Nissan setting up its stage to exhibit its new Smart RearView Mirror technology at the New York Auto Show next week. The new technology is the world's first LCD based rear view mirror equipment that features an in-built LCD monitor in conventional roof mounted rear view mirror inside the cabin.

The system equips a high definition camera, positioned on top of the rear of the vehicle that projects the clear view of behind while avoiding any obstructions like rear-seat headrest, cramped windscreen, wide c-pillar and when boot is loaded till the roof.



The digital display can also be turned off to normal mirror with given control button at the mirror's bottom. The company says that the new development will provide a clearer, better and wider view over the conventional setup, even in case when the whether becomes bleak.

Nissan has selected its 2014 Rogue crossover to feature the Smart Rear View Mirror at the upcoming auto show. Interestingly, ZEOD RC race car for the 2014 24 Hours of Le Mans will be the first running model benefited with the new tech which will later be followed by the NISMO race cars.
