Nissan India has silently updated its people carrier, the Evalia MPV with some subtle cosmetic changes. It is understood that the updated model has reached the company showrooms across India and the deliveries of the vehicle have already commenced. The asking price of the slightly refreshed Evalia MPV is between Rs 8.49 lakh and Rs 10.67 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi.)

The exterior update is limited to the new front grille, which now dons the Nissan’s corporate V-shape chrome styling, while the changes made inside the cabin are limited to faux-wood polish that was seen for the first time in the model displayed at the 2014 Delhi Motor Show. The carpets have also been modified for a better fitting, while the glovebox now features the more traditional lid.

Mechanical bits remain unchanged. This means the updated Nissan Evalia will continue to be powered by the existing 1.5-Litre four-cylinder K9K diesel engine that produces 90PS of max power and 200Nm of peak torque. This engine comes mated to a 5-Speed manual gearbox, while the ARAI claimed fuel efficiency figure rests at 19.3 kmpl.

In the Indian market, the Nissan Evalia competed with the market leader Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Chevrolet Enjoy MPV and the upcoming Honda Mobilio.
