Nissan India has launched a new 'Special' variant of the Nissan Evalia MPV at a sticker price of Rs. 11.62 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi). This new Special variant is now the top-of-the-range variant in the entire Evalia line-up. It boasts all the features of the Evalia V (O) variant which was earlier the top-end grade in the MPV lineup. In addition, it gets cosmetic changes at the outside, while the interior cabin and engine remains unchanged.
At the front fascia, the Special variant flaunts a chrome grille as earlier chrome finish was not on offer at the front grille. The front bumper, too, is redesigned in accordance with the wider and bigger air dam. The fog lamps housings are also revised and chrome strips are surrounding them now. At the sideways, nothing has changed except for the introduction of all-new 10-spoke alloy wheels. At the rear end, a spoiler is also added to accentuate the overall appearance. As mentioned before, the interior cabin is retained and the Special variant, like the V (O) trim, features A/C vents for second and third row passengers, a 2-DIN audio system, rear wiper and defogger, and wood trim on the dashboard.
Mechanically, the Nissan Evalia Special variant is powered by the same 1.5-litre 4-cylinder dCi diesel motor which generates a decent power output of 85 PS at 3750rpm and peak torque of 200Nm at 2000rpm. It is being paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox to maximize fuel efficiency and performance. The Nissan Evalia Special variant, similar to the entire range, has an ARAI Certified fuel efficiency of 19.3kmpl. The Special Evalia variant also borrows safety features from the top-end V (O) grade as it too comes loaded with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), and dual front airbags as standard features. This new variant would directly lock horns with the sporty and stylish Honda Mobilio RS, which is being priced at Rs. 11.55 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi).
