Nissan India has inaugurated a new dealership in Mumbai, Maharashtra, which also happens to be its 200th dealer outlet in India. Being named as Ritu Nissan, it would provide sales and service support for both Nissan and Datsun brands. Ritu Nissan, located in Andheri, is the Japanese automaker's fourth outlet in Mumbai as it already has presence in key areas such as Thane, Bhiwandi and Bhandup. Nissan aims to extend its reach in the country by having 300 sales and service touch points by the end of the 2016 financial year.
"At Nissan India, we are proud to reach this significant milestone in such a short period of time. Establishing 200 outlets in a span of just five years not only makes our network one of the fastest growing in India, but puts us well on track to achieve our target of setting up 300 dealerships across the country by the end of fiscal year 2016. This expansion further strengthens Nissan’s commitment to its customers by bringing its world class products closer to its ever-increasing consumer base," said Arun Malhotra, managing director, Nissan Motor India. Just so you know, Nissan has already inaugurated 18 outlets in metropolitan as well as non-metro cities in this financial year. In fact, the company opened showrooms in cities like Trichy, Tirupati, Sikar and Nasik in the previous two months.
Nissan would bring the new 7-seater X-Trail SUV in India by the end of 2015. The new SUv would be sold via CBU route with an estimated price ranging between Rs. 32-35 Lakhs (Ex. showroom). Being the company's flagship offering, it would come with an electronic 4-wheel drive system, while competing against the likes of Toyota Fortuner and Hyundai Santa Fe.
