Nissan India has opened its new sales & marketing headquarters in the city of Mumbai. The new headquarters was inaugurated by Takashi Hata, senior vice president of Nissan Motor Company and is situated in the Equinox Business Park, Kurla West. The said development from Nissan India is the first, since the company broke up with Hover Automotive that was responsible for the sales and marketing activities in India.
The newly opened facility in Mumbai is Nissan’s second largest office space in the country, after the company’s corporate headquarters that is located in Chennai. The work space will house sales, marketing, communications and dealer management teams for both Nissan and Datsun brands. In the initial phase, a total of 50 personnel will take charge of the Mumbai office, in order to set up the hub for all sales, marketing and dealer management activities. The number of employees in Mumbai will be taken to 150 by the end of this year.
Furthermore, Nissan has also opened a regional office in New Delhi, as part of a wider strategy to expand its local presence and reach in India and will set up more regional bases in other major cities as well. Commenting on the occasion, Kenichiro Yomura, president of Nissan India said, “We have implemented significant improvements to our business structure in India. As a result, Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd has assumed full responsibility for the sales, marketing and distribution of all Nissan and Datsun-branded vehicles and parts in India. The inauguration of our sales & marketing headquarters in Mumbai is a key step to help expand our reach and visibility to our customers in this very important growth market.”
