Japanese car manufacturer, Nissan Motors India, has registered good sales in the month of January 2014 in India. The company has sold 5,195 units of vehicles in the January 2014, registering a growth of 29 per cent, as compared to last year, with more than half of the sales accounting from its premium compact SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) Terrano.
Nissan Motors had sold a total number of 4,028 units of vehicle in January 2013.
" Nissan Motors India has seen a turnaround in sales, starting October last year with the roll out of Terrano. After seeing a decline in volumes in December, Terrano sales again shot up to 3,130 units in January and this helped the company post a 29 per cent growth in total sales," sources said.
The company has sold 1,273 units of hatchback Micra and 650 units of mid sized sedan Sunny as well as 138 units of Evalia during the period.
Nissan Motor India currently sells four models in India namely; Micra, Sunny, Evalia, and Terrano. All the vehicles are manufactured at its plant in Chennai.
The company is all set for the upcoming Auto Expo 2014 with the new range of product line-up. Nissan will be unveiling the facelift Sunny, which is known as Almera in Thailand.
Nissan Friend-Me Concept will also grab attention at the centre stage. The championship winning GT-R GT500 that competes in Japan’s coveted Super GT Series in the GT500 class will be displayed at the Auto Expo. Moreover, the facelift MPV Evalia with new improved features, adding to its standard equipment list and Terrano compact SUV which will be present in an accessorized version will be displayed at the show. Other models from Nissan’s current Indian line-up - including Micra Active and new Micra hatchbacks will be on display too.
Datsun, Nissan’s second brand in India, will also be present at the Auto Expo with its own bespoke pavilion.
