Nissan has been testing the Kicks compact SUV from quite some time and the car is scheduled to make its launch in January 2019 for the Indian market. Recently, the company also released a teaser of the model, hinting at the model’s soon arrival. Nissan will unveil the India-bound Kicks on October 18. Earlier, the company also made an announcement to bring the company’s worldwide lineup to Indian shore as part of its future strategy.
The India-spec Nissan Kicks will be based on the same platform used on the Renault Duster and Nissan Terrano. That clearly speaks of spacious interior along with luggage space as the crossover will get similar length and wheelbase. The car would be offered in a five seat configuration and the interior is likely the same as seen on the international spec versions. Inside, expect it to come with a 8 inch infotainment system and some more premium features.
Mechanically, the Nissan Kicks will be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel option. The petrol version would get a 1.5-litre engine that produces 104bhp paired with a a 5-speed manual gearbox and CVT, on the other hand the diesel version will get a 1.5-litre engine that makes 108bhp mated to a 6-speed manual.
We can expect the Kicks to lie within a price range of Rs 9.5 lakh to Rs 15 lakh (Ex-showroom). It will pounce with the likes of the Hyundai Creta and Renault capture.
