Nissan Motors, it seems like, are enjoying all the happenings at the corporate level. Look at all the changes they made at the top management level in the last few days and appointed Yaya Toure, the football superstar, as their brand ambassador. But at the end of the day, what matters is the sales, and Nissan is surely riding high with the success of their compact SUV, the Terrano. Nissan has launched an anniversary edition of the Terrano, to celebrate the success.
But what success are we talking about? As we reported in our latest sales report of the September, Nissan registered a handsome growth of 64% as against 2013, all thanks to the Terrano. Nissan was able to sell 25000 units of Terrano, since its launch, a year ago. That's a staggering 50% of the total Nissan sales figures. This gave enough reason for Nissan to celebrate the occasion and launch an anniversary issue.
The Terrano Anniversary edition will be launched in two variants; XV D THP and the XV D THP Premium. The engine for the models will remain the same 1.5-litre dCi diesel engine that produces 110 PS of power, paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Available in five colours; Bronze Grey, Blade Silver, Fire Red, Sterling Grey and Pearl White, the Terrano will get major changes on the features part inside the cabin and aesthetical changes on the outside.
As if the Terrano was not good looking enough than the Duster, it will now host a black contrast roof with racing stripes on the hood, new black ORVM covers and a rear spoiler. The package will also include the side steps, chrome finished door handles and a boot entry guard that offers a premium look along with an ‘Anniversary Edition’ badge on the sides and rear.
The inside will now get a new heads up display system standard on both the variants. The XV D THP variant will get a driver seat height adjuster, reverse parking sensors, a leather wrapped steering wheel, and a gear shift knob. The top-end XV D Premium on the other hand will get a Zebra wood front and rear door armrest finish, door trims step as well as leather seats.
Nissan has launched the Anniversary edition on its website only, to promote the online sales. Keeping the special edition exclusive, Nissan is offering only 450 units for sales, coming at the price of Rs 12.83 lakh for the X VD THP trim and Rs 13.13 lakh for the X VD THP Premium trim (ex-showroom, Delhi). The best thing about booking online is that you also get a countdown box at the side that will tell you on the number of units remaining for the special edition model.
