The new Nissan Leaf has won its first international award at CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2018. The fully electric-powered vehicle uses technologies like ProPILOT and e-Pedal. The technologies like Vehicle Intelligence and Self-Driving has enabled the car to claim awards of CES Best of Innovation in both the field along with the CES Honoree for Tech for a Better World. The new Nissan Leaf has also secured the Best Innovation award for 2018 in New York, which is treated as a part of the buildup to the upcoming CES in Vegas, USA.
The Nissan Leaf, a Japan-made car, is already on sale in its home country and it is expected to arrive in the US and Canadian markets in the next two months. The company claims that the new Leaf offers a package of useful innovations and technologies to its customers.
The new Nissan Leaf comes with a powerful battery pack of 40 KWH, which gives a power output of 148 bhp. It can cover a distance of up to 235 miles once fully charged. It comes with e-Pedal that is a new and revolutionary technology in the automobile industry and allows the drivers to start, speed up, slow down and stop just by adjusting the accelerator pedal.
The Nissan Leaf also has an intelligent surround-view monitor, which allows the drivers to get a virtual 360-degree bird's eye view of the car. The system is equipped with four high-quality cameras that help to capture the 360-degree view. It can sense the potential risks approaching the car, just by detecting the movement around your vehicle.
The main highlight of the Nissan electric car is its revolutionary ProPILOT technology. The ProPILOT mode can take care the traffic signals on its own and stop or start accordingly. The ProPILOT technology also helps the car to be at the centre of the road and maintain the relative speed and distance with that of the vehicles in front. This technology is very useful to reduce traffic congestions and road accidents. It will also make driving safer and easier.
