Nissan Micra CVT Variants price decline by Rs 54,000

Snapshot: Nissan announced that the price of their Micra CVT variants, has been slashed by up to Rs 54,000, the XL and XV variants have been priced at Rs 5.99 lakh and Rs 6.73 lakh (All price, ex showroom, Delhi).

Japanese automaker, Nissan today announced that the price of their Micra CVT variants, has been slashed by up to Rs 54,000, the XL and XV variants have been priced at Rs 5.99 lakh and Rs 6.73 lakh (All price, ex showroom, Delhi) and this makes the new Micra XL CVT the most affordable CVT automatic hatch in its segment.  The reason of slash in the price is due to the increased localization levels.

The X-TRONIC CVT automatic transmission is produced at Nissan's Oragadam facility in Chennai that offers comfort and practicality of an automatic with higher fuel efficiency than a manual transmission, returning a mileage of 19.34 kmpl (as per ARAI). As compared to a conventional CVT, it provides a comfortable drive without any shift shocks and smooth acceleration. Nissan was the first brand to bring the tech based on CVT to the premium hatchback segment in the country.

Announcing the prices of the CVT models, Mr Arun Malhotra, Managing Director – Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. said, “The Nissan Micra CVT brings new levels of technology, performance and style to the premium hatchback segment in India. Its raft of practical features offer a safer, more enjoyable driving experience that raises the bar in this part of the market. What's more, the attractive price and impressive fuel economy makes it an even more compelling choice in terms of both driving pleasure and value for money.”

Further, he also added, “As Micra is produced right here in India, we are able to better serve the market in terms of faster, more efficient delivery and improved localization levels. This allows us to pass on these benefits to our customers in the form of a revised, even more competitive price for our popular premium hatchback” added Malhotra.

The hatch comes loaded with follow-me home headlamps, rear LED combi lamp,  start stop push button, steering mounted audio controls, and auto air conditioning, while in terms of safety, it features speed sensing door lock, SRS Dual Airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA).

Under the hood, Nissan Micra is offered in both Diesel and petrol engines. the Petrol version is powered by a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder engine that produces a maximum power of 74.48bhp @ 6000rpm in combination with a peak torque output of 104Nm @ 4000rpm. On the other hand, the diesel variant gets a 1.5-litre four cylinder that is capable to churn out 62.72bhp @ 4000rpm in combination with a maximum torque of 160Nm @ 2000rpm. Transmission options are 5-Speed manual gear box for simplified gear shifts and an advanced CVT based transmission.
