The word 'Wacky' is probably the creation of Japan, because everything that comes out of Japan, defines wacky. And what better than automobiles to prove it, and what better place than the Tokyo Motorshow to showcase it. If you are not able to understand what we are saying here, you should look at the images of what Nissan calls the 'Teatro For Dayz' concept. And we are still wondering, what is more wacky - the car or the name?
The 2015 Tokyo Motorshow is at its full swing and manufacturers are busy showing concept cars to attract the crowd, along with production versions. And it seems like the battle is won by Nissan. Nissan is enjoying the fullest showcasing its Teatro for Dayz concept which is an all-electric minivan with the suicide doors. And this is where the normal ends for this car. Everything else is as flashy as it can get.
On the outside, there are LED screens around the car, that shows the vehicle status and other information. Inside the cabin, seats, steering wheel and the dashboard all are integrated with LED screens, showing you just how crazy one can go with a car if given a free hand. The Teatro for Dayz is actually a concept that reflects how the future electric cars will connect to the smart phones.
Nissan calls the concept as, "an innovative concept that signals a new direction in mobile technology." Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn has mentioned that the car was specially designed for "share natives." He says, "these young people are now getting their drivers' licenses," and "they have never known a world without the Internet, email or social media. They are always connected and eager to share their experiences."
Carlos Ghosn also says that the young Japanese people like the efficiency of an electric vehicle, with a functionality of a small car. The idea behind the Teatro for Dayz was to keep people connected throughout. While the car itself will mobilize you and aid you gather in person, once in the car, you will be connected virtually. This car will help you express and connect with friends, equivalent to meeting in person.
Previously, Mercedes-Benz has showcased their Vision concept, which is an autonomous vehicle on the same lines. While all these are just concepts now, time is not far, we will connect to the cars in reality.
