Nissan India that unveiled the much awaited compact SUV Terrano on August 20th, is now all geared up for the launch of the vehicle on October 9 to capitalize on festive mood of Indian buyers. In fact official bookings for the compact SUV are already on, one can pre-book the vehicle by paying a sum of Rs 51,000. However, the prices are not out yet, our close sources reveal the car to be launching at a starting price of around Rs 8.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Although, Terrano is based on highly successful Renault Duster, Nissan has managed to give it a different and appealing look. The front fascia is the most interesting part of the car with revised bumper, honeycomb grille, new headlamps, a Nissan badge and few other changes. As a matter of fact, the front fascia looks to have taken its inspiration from the Nissan's flagship SUV, the X-Trail. The rear too has got some changes, and most prominent of those are a spilt rear light layout with some part of the lamps given on the bootlid. Side profile is the one area, which looks almost unchanged.
Just like Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano too will be offered in both petrol and diesel engine options, with later tuned to offer two power output options- 85PS and 110PS. The compact SUV will have a total seven variants namely XE 85 PS, XL 85 PS, XL Petrol 104 PS, XL 110 PS, XL Plus 85 PS, XV 110 PS and XV Premium 110 PS. There will be just one petrol variant on offer, sporting the same 1.6-litre 4-cylinder mill, which also does duty to the Duster petrol.
Nissan Terrano will be made available in six exciting colours- Pearl White, Blade Silver, Sterling Grey, Sapphire Black, Fire Red and Sterling Grey. Features to be offered on the Terrano are Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) + Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) + Brake Assist (BA), reverse parking sensor, USB, Aux-in and Bluetooth compatible music system, Airbags, Leather wrapped steering wheels and several others. However, most of the aforementioned features will be given on the top-of-the-line variants only.
