It has been officially declared by the officials in Allahabad that now rules have been stricken for new motorcycle’s registration and availability. It has been made clear that no new motorcycle would roll out the showrooms until and unless their registration process hasn’t been completed. Well to say at least, this is a correct step towards the safety from chain snatching gangs who are mainly active on unregistered motorcycles or vehicles with no number plates.
Commenting on this order, K S Emmanuel, SSP of Allahabad, stated, “Investigations into several such cases have pin-pointed the use of high-speed bikes sans number plates. If two-wheelers have proper registration numbers on both sides, it would help arrest the soaring graph of auto-thefts too.” To bring the rule in action as soon as possible, SSP and RTO Anil Singh arranged a series of meetings with officials of automobile showrooms to make the rule clear and easy in practice. All the automobile dealers were requested to upload owner's details on the booking date itself to enable issuance of registration number within 72 hours. It was made clear that authorities failing to abide by the rules will be liable for penalty. There are a total 90 big and small motorcycle dealerships around the city and almost all of them has officially reported to agree on the rules.
