Official - 2015 Mahindra XUV500 Facelift Launching on May 25, 2015
Mahindra has officially confirmed that the 2015 XUV500 facelift would be launched on May 25, 2015 in the country. The home-grown automajor has started teasing the "New Age XUV500" on its social media platforms. Just so you know, it is the first big makeover for Mahindra's flagship offering - XUV500 - ever since its launch in 2011. The changes would be strictly cosmetic; mechanics would be retained from the ongoing model.
Talking about the major changes on the XUV500 facelift, it has an entirely redesigned front fascia. The refreshed elements at the front include new headlamp cluster with S-shaped LED daytime running lights, a restyled chrome grille, revamped foglamp pockets with chrome highlights and a new bumper. In addition, Mahindra would introduce a new Purple exterior color with the new XUV500. The 2015 XUV500 facelift would ride on newly-designed 10-spoke alloy wheels. At the rear, it would have a bigger chrome finished registration plate enclosure. Inside the cabin, the changes are subtle as everything seems to have been retained from the current model, save for the color theme.
Under the hood, 2015 Mahindra XUV500 facelift would have the same 2.2L, 4-cylinder mHwak diesel engine. It would generate a maximum power output of 140bhp at 3750rpm and peak torque performance of 330 Nm at 1600-2800rpm. It would be linked to a 6-speed manual transmission; no confirmation of auto gearbox, as of now. Drivetrains would be both 2WD and AWD. There are also rumors that the company would launch a new range-topping W10 variant, which would have all the features of the recently XUV500 Xclusive Edition, including new body colour and a sunroof option.
