Volkswagen India is all set to launch the new Beetle in the country. The company has created a dedicated micro-site for the Beetle and released the engine specifications as well as features. The German luxury automaker has also started accepting bookings for the Beetle at a token amount of Rs. 1 Lakh. It is being learnt that the new Beetle would be launched in first week of December 2015.
New Volkswagen Beetle would be offered in a single variant with several exquisite features such as 16-inch alloy wheels, bi-xenon headlamps with LED daytime running lights, keyless access and push button start, panoramic sunroof, heated front seats, front fog lamps, dual zone automatic climate control, auto dimming rear view mirror and ambient lighting with 3 colour options. The interior cabin would be finished in leather wih chrome packages available as optional feature. The company would offer the Beetle in four exterior colors. Just so you know, Volkswagen Beetle would be sold as CBU, just like its predecessor.
Talking about the safety features, the new Beetle would come equipped with 6-airbags as standard. In addition, the duo of Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and Anti-lock Braking System would also be on offer. Under the hood, the new Beetle would have the 1.4L, 4-cylinder TSI petrol engine, which would generate a maximum power of 147bhp. It would be linked to a 7-speed automatic DSG gearbox, with paddle shifters on the steering wheel. Volkswagen Beetle would lock horns with the Mini Cooper and is expected to be priced around Rs. 30-35 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, New Delhi).
