Honda Cars India have officially announced the commencement of the pre-launch bookings for its upcoming Mobilio MPV across its dealerships in the country. The booking amount is understood to be Rs 50,000. A Honda dealer in the know stated that they would receive close to 20 to 30 units of the Mobilio MPV this month and that the delivery periods could range from immediate to a week. The unofficial bookings for the MPV had begun at the end of June across some Honda showrooms.
As a refresher, Honda Mobilio will be offered in India with a 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine that is able to produce 119PS and 145Nm of peak torque and a 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine that is rated at 100PS and 200Nm. The Japanese automaker could also offer the sportier RS variant of the Mobilio in India.
In the Indian market, the Mobilio MPV will give strong competition to the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo and the Nissan Evalia. The MPV will be built at Honda’s new facility in Rajasthan.
The Honda Mobilio MPV is scheduled to make its commercial debut in the country at the end of July 2014.
