Mercedes-Benz India has confirmed that it will showcase two highlight products at the Auto Expo 2016. The Mercedes-Benz GLC and the Mercedes S-Class Cabriolet will have their Indian premieres at the bi-annual auto event scheduled to start in the first week of February. Both the models by Mercedes will be launched in India later in the year, where the GLC is expected to be introduced in mid-2016.
This C Class-based SUV will be positioned between the Mercedes GLA and the GLE, and will compete with the likes of products such as the Audi Q5 and BMW X3. It is expected to be power packed with a 2.0-litre petrol engine and the 2.1-litre diesel engine connected to a 9-speed 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission. While, the top-ranging variants could be offered with a 4MATIC All-Wheel Drive system.
The S-Class Cabriolet made its world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2015. Its styling is similar to its coupé model and complement the Mercedes S-Class S500 Coupe and the Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe, which were launched in India in July 2015. Essentially, making the car a soft-top convertible version of the Coupe. Just like the S-Class Coupe models, this Cabriolet will be imported through the CBU route only.
Mercedes-Benz India will also showcase a customized” S 600 armoured vehicle and Mercedes AMG F1 team’s FIA winning W06 hybrid car at the Auto Expo 2016.
