Hyundai India, after several weeks of unending speculations and deliberations, has made it official that it would launch the new Verna facelift on February 18, 2015 in the country. New Hyundai Verna, also known as Solaris in Russia, would hoist an array of cosmetic changes at the outside. However, it is not expected to bear any mechanical changes or modifications inside the cabin.
The updated Verna would adorn Hyundai's Fluidic 2.0 design philosophy, which has already been seen in the next-generation Sonata. Talking about the designing changes at the outside, the new model of Verna would have a new front fascia in form of bigger headlamps, redesigned bumper, newly designed fog lamps and revised grille. However, the side profile remains to be the same except for the new design of alloys. At the rear, it is identical to the current-generation sedan as well. Inside the cabin, it would mostly remain unchanged but a few upgrades can be expected like a new infotainment system or likewise.
Current model of Hyundai Verna was launched around four years back and it stayed at top position in the mid-sized sedan segment. But, it lost the ground when Honda launched the new City and Maruti marked its entry in the segment with Ciaz sedan. Mechanically, 2015 Hyundai Verna would be unchanged in most likelihood. It would continue using the same set of petrol engines (1.4L & 1.6L) and diesel engines (1.4L & 1.6L CRDi). Although, the company might tune the suspension and steering wheel response upto an extent so that driveability could be even more better on highways.
