Daniel Ricciardo has now been confirmed to drive for Infiniti’s Red Bull Racing team for the year 2014, as a part of the multinational agreement signed by both parties. Sebastian Vettel has already been confirmed for next year, including him and Ricciardo, the driver lineup of the team has officially been filed. The team principal of Infiniti Red Bull racing Formula 1, Christian Horner said that, it’s fantastic that Daniel has been named as one of the drivers, he is committed and a very talented young man, who has a great attitude. He was a real logical choice for the team which is the most important part the team should concentrate on.
He also said that, Daniel joined the junior Red Bull team in the year 2008, and the team since then has witnessed his career both in the Renault World Series and Formula 3 series. Daniel is capable of races and championships, said Horner. Daniel stood out in each of these mentioned categories and the team has been recording his success and following him with great interest. He further said that, Daniel has got all the abilities and characteristics of a Formula 1 driver, especially for Infiniti Red Bull’s team. He already knows what the team will expect from him and he’ll learn quickly and become a very big star in the future.
Formula One engineer, Adrian Newey, said that, he and Horner were looking for a driver to replace the retired Mark Webber. They were very picky in choosing the right driver to get the job done. He said that, the team could have chosen someone with experience, and someone who can easily guarantee to deliver performance. But instead they went for a fresh driver who equally has the ambition and hunger to perform and win, so Daniel Ricciardo was the best one they could find, that can fit the team’s expectancy level perfectly.
