While the Skoda revealed the heavily camouflaged images of the India-bound 20l15 Skoda Superb officially, a clearer sketch is also being teased now. The sketch clearly indicates the heavy inspiration new age Superb draws from the Vision C Concept, which made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year.
While the current generation Suberb already being a charming looker, the next generation Superb looks more edgier, sharper and sportier. Design cues are taken from the Vision C in terms of headlamps, which are sharper and more rectangular, and more production friendly as opposed to the concept version. The bonnet gets a similar angle as well as the new Skoda corporate grille, and bumper-work.
On the side profile, the wheel arches look more muscular, window work is more narrow and the waistline is high. The new Superb will sit on the Volkswagen's MQB modular platform and will be more stylish than ever. The interiors too, will house some of the latest gadgets and the fit and finish is expected to be of top notch levels.
The dimensions are also altered and increased by 80mm for the wheelbase and 20mm for the width. Though the overall increase in the proportions won't lead to any weight increase, and infact, the car is set to be lighter by 75-80kgs. The car will get a set of more powerful engines that will be cleaner and more efficient.
Skoda is planning for a Febuary unveiling and the India launch could very well be in the late 2015.
