Toyota Yaris sedan has officially gone on sale in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 8.75 lakh for the manual variant Rs 9.95 lakh (All Prices, Ex showroom) for the CVT version. Though, the Japanese car manufacturer had already announced the prices and variants, but the deliveries have started now only with immediate effect. The mid-size sedan will pounce with the likes of the Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna and Volkswagen Vento.
Speaking at the launch, Mr Akito Tachibana, Managing Director, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said, “Toyota is here to deliver ever better cars that set a benchmark in safety, quality, durability and reliability. In terms of feature, the Yaris comes packed with 7 airbags (including knee airbag), gesture controlled infotainment system with touch screen navigation, paddle shift for CVT with cruise control, power driver seat, roof mounted air vents with ambient illumination, Anti-Lock braking system (ABS) with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), tyre-pressure monitoring system (TPMS), vehicle stability control, smart entry with push start and front & Rear parking sensor.

Under the bonnet, the new Toyota Yaris sedan is powered by a 1.5-litre Dual VVTi Gasoline Engine with a 7 speed CVT (Continuous Variable Transmission) or 6 speed MT (Manual Transmission) options. Catering to the emerging need for automatics in the segment, whereas the CVT option will be made available across all trims.
