Europe's leading car manufacturer,Volkswagen is expected to add a heavy dose of excitement to its vast lineup of carlines at the Auto Expo 2016, by announcing the unveiling of the Polo GTI for its Indian consumers. Designed to suit the requirements of automotive enthusiasts, the Polo GTI has earned a reputation world-over, for being among the most powerful, dynamic and thrilling carlines in its league.
Speaking of the exterior, it surely appears a little similar to the standard Polo GT but its striking design and style cues make it differ from the GT. In line with Volkswagen India's ‘Think New philosophy’, this would be a 3-door carline, a first of its kind in the Indian market. Volkswagen will initially launch the three-door version of the Polo GTI via CBU route. Ticking all the boxes of exhilarating performance, power and comfort, the Polo GTI is guaranteed to make heads turn with its striking redesign with instant recognition.
Taking cues from Volkswagen's racing pedigree, the GTI will be powerpacked with a larger and more powerful 1.8 litre TSI turbocharged engine that will produce 192 PS and 320 Nm of torque and will be available in both manual transmission and a 7-speed DSG options. The brand claims that this GTI can bolt to 100 kmph in just 6.7 seconds with a top marking of 236 kmph.
It is expected to launch in India by the September 2016.
