Okinawa Scooters, the electric bike maker, will unveil the maxi electric scooter at the 2020 Auto Expo. While most of the bike makers have decided to opt-out of the biennial event, Okinawa is among the very few automakers who are participating in the motor show. The company recently released the teaser image of the Maxi e-scooter on its social media channels. The upcoming scooter, expected to be an electric cruiser, will take styling inspiration from the maxi-scooter.
Going by the teaser image, the new maxi-scooter will flaunt an apron mounted twin-pod headlight design alongside a tinted visor. It will also have a split-style footboard and a step-up seat as standard. The saddle also appears to be adequate for two occupants. The under-seat storage is also expected to be huge in terms of space. The rear-set handlebar is offered to return decent ergonomics. The features expected on the scooter are LED headlamp, LED tail-lamp and a digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity. The turn-by-turn navigation and USB charging features could also make their way in the new scooter.
As for the suspension set-up, the new Okinawa scooter will get telescopic forks and preload-adjustable springs at the front and rear, respectively. It could also be equipped with a front disc brake as standard fitment. The driving range could exceed 120 kilometers with a top speed of around 100kmph. This new offering from Okinawa would directly take on the Suzuki Burgman which is also believed to be debuting at the 2020 Auto Expo. The company will also showcase its existing range of electric scooters at the event, which includes the Praise e-scooter as well. Stay tuned to this space for more updates on the same.
