Toyota, with its all new Fortuner is all set to take back what it lost in the Indian market in the SUV department. The SUv had been spotted undisguised at various dealerships previously and is now open for online registration through the company’s website for prospective buyers.
The company had previously declared November 7 as the launch date for the Fortuner and the new ‘register’ tab in Toyota’s website will help customers who are interested to gain access to buying details by entering their basic information like name, contact details and the dealership of their preference.
Before its unveiling the car has been seen at dealerships in Ahmedabad. It has headlamps that are sleek as well as daytime running lights. The fog lamps and front grille gets a heavy dose of chrome. The car is made to look more masculine by the cuts and creases along its sides. It also comes with 18-inch alloy wheels which further adds to this image.
Beneath the hood, the same Innova Crysta MPV engines of Toyota, launched earlier this year are expected to power the new Fortuner. The diesel variant of the SUV can offer two choices of engine, 2.4-litre or 2.8-litre. The petrol variant might come with a 2.7-litre tank. Transmission of power will be taken care of by either a 6-speed manual or the 6-speed automatic transmission which is also present in the 2.8-litre engine on the Innova Crysta.
Ford Endeavour and the Chevrolet Trailblazer will be the competitors of the brand new Toyota Fortuner.
