The British luxury and performance car maker Jaguar has proclaimed that, the brand will be retailing 10 units of the street legal speed demon the XKR-S GT to the citizens of the United Kingdom. This is far less than their previous plans to sell 30 units, in the United States and Canada only, but the company could not ignore their birthplace and decided to build 10 right hand driven units for their country.
This ‘ultimate road-going XK’, punch line provided by the company for the XKR-S GT, will wear a price tag of 1,24,50,095 rupees, on-road. U.K citizens will get the first line of deliveries from Jaguar and the first customer is expected to receive the car on October 2013.The XKR-S GT made its first appearance in the 2013 New York International Auto Show. Since then the car has been undergoing constant testing on the road and on race tracks, in Germany and the United States. Recently this adrenaline junky finished a lap of the Nurburgring Nordscheliefe route nicknamed the ‘green hell’ in just 7 minutes and 40 seconds. Now the XKR-S GT is the fastest street-legal Jaguar ever to run on a German racetrack.
The XKR-S GT derives its power from Jaguar’s 5.0 liter supercharged V8, which thrusts out 535 BHP and 680 NM of Torque. This block pushes the car from 0-100 Kmph in just 3.9 seconds and gives it a top speed of 280 Kmph. The XKR-S GT is 0.3 seconds faster than the XKR-S in acceleration. This huge engine is mated with an active electronic differential and an automatic 6 speed transmission. The car is completely aerodynamic with humongous downforce, suspension upgrades and optimized immediate cornering.
The car is fixed with a carbon-fiber face ripper, comprehensive wheel arch rows, aluminum valance, rear diffuser and an eminent arm. These are the aspects that contribute to the car’s aerodynamics. The maximum downforce produced by all these elements combined together is around 145 kilograms. The suspension also has elements like, a broader camber, wider obverse path, new steering with quicker ratios and improved bushings.
The exterior of the XKR-S GT, will be shaded in white, with an ‘R-S GT’ logo on the bonnet, and also will have cool aggressive enhancing graphics on it.
