Ever since the first news of the Mobilio MPV’s development started to trickle into the auto industry, we knew this is one product that is bound to create a lot of noise in Indian market. Its merely been two weeks since the MPV made its commercial debut in the country and the vehicle has gathered strong registrations of over 10,000 units. With a week of the model’s launch in India, Honda had announced to have accumulated over 5,800 registrations, since the time the pre-launch bookings were opened.
With the anticipated high demand for the Mobilio MPV, the company has reportedly, ramped up the production at its Greater Noida facility to make sure it meets the market demand. Honda has set a target to deliver the already booked Mobilio MPVs to their respective owners by the end of August. The new bookings however, could be looking at a waiting period ranging between two and five months.
According to the latest sales report released by Honda Cars India, the company has sold a total of 15,709 units in the month of July 2014. The Mobilio MPV clocked sales of 3,365 units, while the all-new City and the Amaze compact sedan registered sales of 4,507 and 7,705 units respectively. The Brio hatchback and the Honda CR-V on the other hand, contributed with sales of 74 and 58 units respectively.
