It was a close call for P Nataraj who was third last year at the Gulf Monsoon Scooter Rally. He won over the former champion Shamim Khan by a scarcely  0.04 seconds. Nataraj was riding a TVS Wego on which he won over Khan who is the 2003 and 2004 champion and Bhopal's Muzaffar Ali who was the champion last year.

The rain did not create much of a problem on the race day, but the waterlogged areas of the 35km competitive sector challange that got wet because the showers witnessed a couple of riders toppling on a few occasions.

Manjit Singh Bassan won the Class S2 - 111-160cc two-stroke category and was also declared the best Mumbai rider. Jinen Shah was the fastest first-timer and was awarded the late Firdosh Vajifdar trophy. To make the 25th version of the event, Gulf Oil gifted a helmet to all of the participants.
