Honda is on a roll these days and specially with the sort of concepts they are launching at the series of auto shows happening across the globe. Point in case the recently revealed Honda Civic Coupe concept that was unveiled at the New York Auto Show. The Lime Green Civic previewed the tenth generation of the Civic that will be on launch in the U.S in the coming months.
And now, several sketches revealing the patent design of the next generation Honda Civic Sedan and Coupe have surfaced online. One can see the production ready coupe and sedan in the sketches that will be a part of new US-spec Civic family consisting also the hatchback, Si and Type R body types. Though, we have our share of skepticism if the production model will match the concept design.
There is a potential for the Type R version to look like the aforementioned concept. The sketches don't show any rear wing on the production-ready Civics, but they will be most likely to be offered on the Si variant. On the coupe version, the interconnected taillights have been retained that would look real interesting in the metal.
The 4-door sedan on the other hand, gets a sloping roofline that makes it look sporty and a boomerang-shaped taillights are not coupe inspired. The new Civic will feature some of the advanced safety and assistance systems like the Forward Collision Warning system, Lane Departure Warning system, Adaptive Cruise Control and a Multi-Angle Rearview Camera.
The new Civic will be getting a four-cylinder 1.5-litre direct-injection turbo engine that is paired to a short-shifting six-speed manual and a new CVT gearbox. Honda also announced that the new Civic will have a longer wheelbase, shorter overhangs, lower stance and a wider body than the outgoing model. While these are just the leaked sketches, more details will follow soon in the months to come.
