Piaggio is all set to launch two of its limited edition Vespa scooters in Indian market on 25th of October. One of them is Vespa 946 Emporio Armani edition and another one is a 70th Anniversary Edition. Both the scooters will be sold in very limited numbers in India while the 946 Emporio Armani will be the second most costly scooter in India.
The 946 Emporio Armani edition is unique from multiple points of view, particularly matte paint job makes the scooter even more exquisite. The Italian scooter is equipped with full-LED projectors headlights and indicators, the styling of this drool worthy scooter screams that its a Italian scooter. The instrument panel is LCD as well.
The Vespa 946 Emporio Armani was showcased at the Auto Expo by Piaggio this year. The scooter is based on the older Vespa 946. This special edition has been jointly designed and developed by Giorgio Armani and Piaggio to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Giorgio Armani group and 130th anniversary of the Piaggio group. The 946 signifies 1946 when the scooter was first produced, however the new edition gets high on technologies with ASR Traction control and two-channel ABS. The scooter is powered by a 125cc 4-stroke 3V engine with electronic injection. The engine churns out 11.7bhp of power and 10.3Nm of peak torque. On the braking front the scooter is equipped with 220mm dual disc brakes. Additionally the scooter runs on a grippy 12-inch alloy wheels.
The grips of the scooter are wrapped in leather which are hand-sewed and the seat is also leather wrapped. The scooter comes with only one seat, and there is an utility hook underneath the seat. It likewise gets a carrier at the rear which resembles with the scooters of 1940's.
Like other rare piece of art the Emporio Edition will also be in very limited numbers. This brilliant piece of art would also command a exorbitant price tag, and we expect it to be priced around Rs. 5lakhs. However, the exact pricing can be known only after its official launch.
