According to the ongoing reports, Piaggio India is set to launch an entire new range of Vespa scooters on first of September. The launch event is scheduled to be held in Mumbai and will be done by the football legend, Alessandro Del Piero. Till time there is no information about the new range of scooters that will be launched next month. The present line-up that Piaggio is presently selling in the country includes Vespa LX 125, VX 125, S and the Elegante models.

All the scooters in the line-up shares the same engine underpinning, it is a 125cc engine that churns out 10bhp at 7500rpm and 10.6Nm at 6000rpm. At the IBW 2015 (India Bike Week) the company displayed Vespa GTS300 and even though it’s not confirmed yet but it might be the same scooter that the company might be considering launching in India. Since Indian scooter market is booming month by month, may be this is the correct tie to introduced higher capacity scooter in India. If launched it is obvious that the scooter will cross the mark of INR 1 Lakh and will serve as the brand building product here in India. Vespa GT300 is powered from a 278cc four stoke single-cylinder, liquid-cooled fuel Injected engine that delivers good 21.1bhp and 22.3Nm of torque.
