Mahindra and Mahindra has achieved a place of importance in the car manufacturing industry in India. It is rapidly expanding at all levels and more or less has reached the second position as a major car manufacturing unit. ‘M&M’ has recently won 2 ‘awards at an award giving ceremony initiated by well known a media organization ‘Exchange 4’.
M&M manufactures the most popular brand of Sports Utility Vehicles. These are Scorpio and ‘XUV500’. In the contest where nearly fifty ‘brands’ were judged by a panel of emininent names in Marketing and Advertising, Mahindra won 2 coveted prizes. It won ‘Buzzy Brand’ award for its excellence in marketing its model ‘ XUV500’. This award is given to a brand which is marketed on digital as well as normal media and creates enough interest and excitement in consumers. The consumers were surprised by the campaign which launched ‘XUV500’ vehicle and passed on the information through face to face talk as well.
The second award won by Mahindra at this occasion was for the successful position of the company’s brand through its campaign ‘Rise’. The campaign was undertaken to rebrand the organization towards new benchmarks, new corporate goals and achieving a ‘new global standards’. The panel looking at corporate brand reposition considered Mahindra has given a fresh turn to its corporate image after successful run of this campaign.
The competition in these two categories was very tough and was between well known brands. The entrants for ‘Buzzy Brands’ were thorougly scrutinzed for their marketing campaigns over an extended period of nearly twelve to eighteen ‘months’, shortlisted and then judged by a panel of experts. Again competition for corporate rebranding was again very difficult and several competitors who were considered famous names in the corporate world took part. The management representative thanked the organizers of the contest and judges and said that winning these awards means that the hard work put in by all employees of M&M is now recognized by the rest of the country as well.
