Polarity, the Pune-based electric automaker, will officially launch six e-bikes on September 20, 2019, in the Indian market. The Six Smart Bike Prototypes will be offered in two different categories - Executive and Sport. The Executive range includes E1K, E2K and E3K while the Sport prototypes are S1K, S2K and S3K. The company has started accepting orders for the e-bikes on the website at a refundable token payment of Rs 1,001 with deliveries scheduled towards the end of the year.

Polarity Smart Bikes will be more like electric cycles with paddles for assistance. However, the company claims they will be "India’s first pedal-assisted electric smart bikes with top speeds of up to 100kmph". The bikes will get power from a lithium-ion battery mounted within the frame and hub motors ranging from 1-3kW. All Polarity prototypes are Personal Mobility Vehicles focusing on the concept of individuality and personalization in the mobility space, a first-of-its-kind among two-wheelers manufactured in India. The driving range is claimed 80 km with pedal assistance to add to the overall range. Polarity has also made it clear that one doesn’t have to pedal the bike all the time and that it would also serve as an exercise tool and a range extender.

The e-bikes will weigh less than 60 kgs, which will make them even more efficient than other electric two-wheelers in the country. The bikes will also feature LED headlights and a digital instrument cluster. In addition, a mono-shock rear suspension, USD forks in the front and dual discs at front and rear will be available as standard features. ABS could well also be offered as a standard safety feature. There will be no need to charge the bikes while it would be fairly easy to carry them, even in a lift. The pricing is expected to start from Rs 50,000 while going as high as Rs 1 Lakh for the range-topping variants.
