Polarity Smart Bikes has unveiled its range of smart bikes. They are pedal-assisted electric bikes that have some very appealing styling and aim to help with last-mile connectivity. The option of pedal power helps to eliminate range anxiety. The range of six models begins at Rs 38,000 and goes up all the way to Rs 1.1 lakh. The full price list is as follows:

Pre-bookings have been opened today for a token amount of Rs 1,001. This is a refundable amount. A formal launch of the models will happen at a later date, and deliveries will begin in the first quarter of 2020. Annual production will be 15,000 units for the first year.
As far as charging is concerned, the company will provide plug-in chargers. A home charger will be standard, and a fast charger will be optional. The fast chargers will also have a range to choose from, beginning with a 40V 5A charger, up to an 80V 10A one.
Every model in the lineup will be able to go at least 80km on a single charge, and the difference is in top speed. The most affordable model, the E1K, will top out at 40kph, while the range-topping S3K will touch 100kph. Power is derived from a Li-ion battery pack with a three-year warranty covering 1000 charging cycles, feeding a 1-3kW BLDC electric hub motor. There are upside-down front forks, a rear monoshock, a front disc brake, LED lamps, a fully digital instrument cluster, and on the range-topping E3K and S3K, Bluetooth connectivity and a GPS navigation system as well.
The first 70,000 units sold in Maharashtra will get a 2.5 percent discount, thanks to the state government waiving the state-level GST of 2.5 percent for them. Those looking for an option to the Polarity range have a few options to choose from, like the Being Human e-bike range. However, nothing currently matches up to the feature set of the Polarity halo models.
