Porsche India has launched the Boxster GTS and Cayman GTS at an introductory price of Rs. 1.15 Crore (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) and Rs. 1.17 Crore (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) in the country. It is the first time that the company has extended its GTS range for two models. GTS means Gran Turismo Sport and under this badge, the new Porsche Boxster and Porsche Cayman has an upgraded and more powerful engine with the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) chassis.
As for exterior appearance, both the Boxster GTS and Cayman GTS flaunt blackened bi-xenon headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS). In addition, they also get a distinguished front and revised rear with 20-inch wheels being sourced from the Carrera S. Inside the cabin, both the new models boast leather upholstery with Alcantara inserts and standard bucket seats.
Anil Reddi, Director, Porsche India, says, "With the introduction of the GTS versions of the Boxster and Cayman, we are catering to Porsche purists and true sports car enthusiasts in the country. These two new Porsche sports cars excel visually and dynamically, and assure a rewarding ownership and driving experience."
Under the hood, both the GTS models retain the 3.4L, 6-cylinder motor of the regular Boxster and Cayman, albeit with extra power and torque. The engine has been retuned for 15bhp of extra power and 10Nm of extra torque and now the Porsche Boxster GTS churns out 330bhp of top power and Porsche Cayman GTS generates 340 bhp of maximum power. Both the models have a seven-speed PDK automatic gearbox which transmits the power to the rear wheels.
Moreover, both the GTS variants get the Sport Chrono package as standard. Porsche Boxster GTS does a 0-100kmph in a mere 4.7 seconds with a top speed of 279kmph. On the other hand, the Cayman GTS is even faster as it sprints from 0-100kmph in just 4.6 seconds with a top speed of 283kmph. The company claims that both these models return a mileage of 12kmpl as per New European Driving Cycle.
