Porsche India has launched the base variant of Macan at a sticker price of Rs. 76.16 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom) in the country. The new variant can be ordered on all Porsche dealerships, while the deliveries are expected to commence by November 2016. It is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine. Even the base variant gets all the bells and whistles as standard, with a few high-end premium features on offer as optional.
Measuring 4697mm in length, 1923mm in width and 1624mm in height, the Porsche Macan base variant has a wheelbase of 2807mm. It features 18-inch wheels, twin single-tube tailpipes, new Porsche Communication Management infotainment system, three-zone climate control and Alcantara seat centres as standard features. The company is offering Bi-Xenon with Porsche Dynamic Light System or LED headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus, panoramic sunroof, heating function for front seats, six-disc CD/DVD changer, new Porsche Communication Management infotainment system with navigation module, Connect module with Porsche Car Connect and Apple CarPlay and Connect Plus module with telephone module, wireless Internet access, real-time traffic information, Apple CarPlay, Google Earth and Google Street View as optional features.
Under the bonnet, the Macan SUV has a 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine which develops a maximum power of 252bhp and peak torque of 370Nm. It is linked to the PDK gearbox, which transmits the power to all the four wheels via an all-wheel-drive system. The Porsche Macan does the 0-100kmph sprint in just 6.7 seconds, while touching a top speed of 229kmph. Porsche Macan is up against the likes of Audi Q7, BMW X5, Jaguar F-PACE, Volvo XC90 and Range Rover Sport. The bookings for the base variant are accepted at the Porsche dealerships at a token amount of Rs. 10 Lakhs. It would be sold alongside the Macan S diesel and the Macan Turbo which are retailed at prices of Rs. 1.03 Crores and Rs. 1.15 Crores, respectively.
