Porsche has unveiled the more potent Macan GTS which comes with a slightly more aggressive body highlighted by the beefier bumpers and a combination of high gloss & matte black accents. It rides on chunky 20-inch RS Spyder Design alloys that have a Satin Black look while on the inside there are sport seats wrapped around in leather and Alcantara. It gets as standard the Porsche Communication Management system, as well as leather accents and an 8-speaker sound system with support for AUX and USB connectivity.
The heart and soul of this Macan is a V6 3.0-liter twin-turbo engine generating a massive 360 bhp and 500 Nm of torque channeled to an all-wheel drive system through a dual-clutch, 7-speed PDK gearbox. Thanks to this hardware arrangement, the Porsche Macan GTS will run the 0-96 kmph sprint in just 4.8 seconds and will continue to accelerate until it hits a top speed of 256 kmph when equipped with the optional Sport Chrono Package.
The upgrades don’t end here as the high-performance crossover from Porsche also has a high-performance braking system with 360mm front & 330mm rear rotors coupled to red brake calipers, along with the Porsche Active Suspension Management system and an air suspension as standard.
Already available in Germany, the Porsche Macan GTS begins at €73,400 while those living in United States will have to wait until March next year to place an order and pricing will kick off at $67,200 without taking into account the destination charges. Taking into account Porsche India sells both the S and Turbo versions of the Macan, chances are this GTS version will also arrive in our country to bridge the gap between the two although we will have to wait for an official announcement. If that happens, expect the Macan GTS to hit Porsche’s dealerships in India likely by the end of 2016.
