Porsche, the German automaker is looking to expand its line-up in the Indian market by launching new products. It is gearing up to launch the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid, bookings of which have already started. Deliveries are expected to commence from early 2018.

The Porsche Panamera is a luxury sedan, which is already on sale in India. Now, the company is determined to bring in the E-Hybrid version of the car, which will further consolidate its position in the Indian market. Initially, Porsche India is expected to offer three new variants of the luxury sedan - Turbo S E-Hybrid, Turbo S E-Hybrid Executive and Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo. The Executive variant offers an extended wheelbase which is about 150 mm longer than the standard variant.

Visually, the Hybrid version of the Porsche Panamera remains identical to the standard model, except for the new styling bits that make it a hybrid model. The changes include a neon green coloured brake calliper instead of the red one and the highlighted E-Hybrid badging in green colour on both sides. The rest remains almost identical, featuring the four-point LED headlight cluster, sloping bonnet and wraparound LED tail-lights. Moreover, the interior of the car offers the same luxury and comfort features as its sibling.

Mechanically, the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid features the same 4.0-litre, V8 petrol engine that manages to churn out a maximum power output of 542 bhp between 5,750-6,500 revolutions per minute. Additionally, it will get an electric motor to develop a maximum power of 134 bhp. The combination of petrol and electric motor outputs a maximum power of 676 bhp against a peak torque of 850 Nm. The powertrain comes paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox and offers an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system. It claims to reach a speed of 100 kmph from standstill position in just 3.4 seconds.

Porsche India has also confirmed the prices of the models, which starts at Rs. 2.33 crore (ex-showroom) for the base variant and goes up to Rs. 2.46 crore (ex-showroom) for the top-end trim.
