The German luxury car maker Porsche AG brings the famous tennis star Maria Sharapova as its brand ambassador. The contract is said to have been signed for a time frame of three years, involving a global communication campaign.
Maria Sharapova expressed her happiness on partnering the premium sports car brand. She termed it as an amazing honour. Porsche had always chosen male athletes as its brand ambassadors and Maria Sharapova has broken the rule to become the first female brand ambassador of the company. The Russian tennis star has been already representing many world famous brands such as Nike, Canon and other brands. She has also been representing the Land Rover.

Born in a western Siberian town of Nyagan, on 18th April 1987, Maria Sharapova is the second ranked tennis star now. She joined the world famous tennis academy of Coach Nick Bollettieri. She won her first Grand slam at the age of seventeen, at Wimbledon, recording the third ever youngest player to win the title. She won the silver in 2012 Olympics at London. Until now Sharapova has won 28 tournaments and the last was coincidentally the Porsche tennis Grand Prix at Stuggart. She was awarded a white Porsche 911, a super sports car for the victory. Sharapova has a great involvement in the activities of ‘Maria Sharapova foundation’ and is also the ambassador of the United Nations development programme.
