Face lift is a new concept in the car manufacturing industry, it takes place whenever a model is faced with stiff competition from the other car manufacturers or its popularity drops down. Rumours of a face lift for Swift were ripe in the market and it was expected that the modified model would be introduced in the month of ‘September’ in the ‘motor show’ at ‘Frankfurt’ in Germany. However, the photographs showing the changes appeared on the internet.
In the year 2011 the model was introduced in the global car market. From the pictures on display it appears that only minor changes are made to the facelifted model. The exterior of the vehicle is changed slightly, the front ‘LED’ lamps now glow in the day as well. The position of the ‘turn-indicators’ are changed from ‘fenders’ and they are now placed near the ‘wing mirrors’. However, there are no mechanical changes and the model will have the same old engine which used to power the old model of ‘Swift’. The car would continue to run on a one point two Litre engine. The capability of the engine remains ninety four BHP at the top speed.
‘Swift’ is a popular model in India and one question the prospective buyers are asking is whether the face lifted model will be introduced in India as well? So far Nissan has not made any announcement on this topic.
