Recently the value of rupee in comparison to the dollar is fluctuating rapidly. The Rupee value has gone down and last week one US Dollar was equivalent to sixty Indian Rupees. Though the Rupee has regained its value a little bit but it is still hovering between 59 to 58 Rupees to one Dollar. Most of the luxury car manufacturers are faced with the difficult task of increasing the prices of their models as the parts of the models are imported from the other countries and are priced in U S Dollars though models are assembled in India There is no option but to raise the price tags of their brands. Audi models are very popular and the car manufacturer sells a good percentage of their models in the luxury car market.
Faced with the downward spiral of Rupee value Audi India were forced to enhance the prices of all their models substantially. The new price is going to be operative from 15th July. A senior executive from the company explained that this was due to the economic situation. He; however, explained that the company would also offer some new schemes for financing and this may help the customers and prospective buyers. The price increase for Q 5 is going to be nearly Rupees 152000 while R 8 will now have a price increase of Rupees 442000. It is interesting to note here that the sale of Audi models was good this year and the company increased their sales percentage substantially in the last month as compared to the sales for the same month last year.
Audi is also planning to launch many new models, AudiRS5 and AudiS6 and expect the sales of these new models to be good. They are increasing their dealer network as well to cater to the prospective customers. They plan to expand into the smaller towns and cities which are developing faster.
