Raikkonen achieves podium as Hamilton sweeps Bahrain GP

Snapshot: Lewis Hamilton won the Bahrain GP ahead of Kimi Raikkonen and Nico Rosberg.

Lewis Hamilton won the Bahrain GP 2015 for the second time as the high drama race saw Kimi Raikkonen deliver his season best. A clever strategy to put soft tyres in the final stint helped the Finnish finish ahead of Nico Rosberg, who was driving his Mercedes on the medium compounds. While the Hamilton won the race, Kimi Raikkonen in his Ferrari came second, followed by Nico Rosberg in third spot.

Ferrari's other driver, four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel's mid-race pit stop forced him to finish fifth ahead of Williams' Valtteri Bottas. Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo finished sixth ahead of Romain Grosjean, who was on Lotus, followed by Force India's Sergio Perez at the eighth spot. This is a sign of relief for the Force India who didn't had the best of 2015 season yet.

Daniil Kvyat of Red Bull and Felipe Massa of Williams finished in ninth and tenth respectively to complete the top 10 standing. In the championship standings now, Lewis Hamilton leads with a healthy 93 points ahead of his teammate Nico Rosberg who sits at 66. Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel has slipped to third spot with 65 points. On the constructors' table, Mercedes leads with 159 point ahead of Ferrari's 109 and Williams' 61.

Kimi Raikkonen Said, "After a difficult year last year and a beginning of the season that was a bit unlucky, it’s great to be back on the podium. I have mixed emotions, it’s a great feeling to be back, but we want to be on the top. Today we did our best, we have to be happy with the result, we did the maximum and took some good points for the team."
