Land Roverannounced the start of sales of the locally manufactured Range Rover Velar, today. The price of made in India Range Rover Velar starts from Rs 72.47 lakh in India. The Range Velar was earlier made available in the country as a CBU unit and was costlier by Rs 25 lakh. The move of manufacturing the Velar in India will certainly give the brand an upper hand within the luxury SUV segment.
The Range Rover Velar is available in only one trim, named R Dynamic-S with a petrol and a diesel engine options. The 2.0-litre petrol engine of Range Rover Velar belts out 247 bhp of max power and 365 Nm of max torque. Velar's 2.0-litre diesel engine makes 178 bhp of peak power and a massive 430 Nm of peak torque. Both the engine options are married to a similar 8-speed automatic gearbox. The petrol engine powered Velar can attain triple digit speeds in 7.1 seconds, while the diesel variant takes 8.9 seconds to do a 0-100 kmph speed sprint.
Speaking of the exteriors, the Range Rover Velar has a powerful front-end, lower waistline with a slightly tapered rear-end which is a true trait of the Range Rover family. The all-LED lightings, deployable flush doors and the integrated rear spoiler make the luxury SUV more attractive and practical, simultaneously. The Range Rover Velar is an epitome of luxury, progressive design and technology as it comes equipped with Activity Key wristbands, Meridian Sound System, TouchPro Duo, four-zone climate control, cabin air ionization, Wi-Fi service, sliding panoramic roof and premium leather interiors.

The made in India Range Rover Velar is also equipped with ATPC (All-Terrain Progress Control) which assists the driver with providing ultimate control in challenging terrains. The key rivals of the Range Rover Velar are Mercedes GLE Coupe and BMW X6.
