We have already witnessed several launches this festive season, and to add more colors to it, General Motors has today rolled out the new 2013 Chevrolet Cruze in India at Rs 13.75 lakh (ex-Showroom, Delhi). Since, it's just a mid-life facelift, only cosmetic changes are given to the vehicle.
On the outside, the refurbished Chevrolet Cruze gets new bumpers, new front spoiler, Bezel headlamps and newly designed 16-inch alloy wheels. Largely the car remains all the same, however the aforementioned changes has certainly helped the car look refreshed and much sportier. There are no interior changes as well, it continues to come in all-black interiors, but there are two additional airbags (Front & Side) this time.
Since, only cosmetic changes are given to the car, at heart, it's the same Cruze as earlier. It continues to source its power from the 2.0-litre VCDi diesel mill, capable of pumping out a maximum power of 163.7bhp and 380Nm of peak torque. And as earlier, the car is being offered with both 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox options.
Now when the Skoda Auto India has already brought in the all new Octavia and Hyundai has been ruling the premium saloon segment, it had become important for General Motors to launch a refreshed version of the Cruze, so to keep the buyer's interest in their car. However, new generation Chevrolet Cruze is expected to come by the end of next year or early 2015.
