Now when new 2013 Skoda Octavia and facelifted Chevrolet Cruze are already there in the premium saloon segment, Volkswagen India is all set to launch the updated VW Jetta to keep the momentum going. Although the company hasn't announced anything on the pricing, we believe the prices to remain unchanged. Booking for the car might soon open across all the Volkswagen dealerships.
The updated Volkswagen Jetta is likely to get some minor cosmetic updates like redesigned alloy wheels, new Xenon headlamps and day time running LEDs, making the car look refreshed. The car is expected to feature a climatronic automatic control as well. There could be minor changes inside the cabin as well; however, the company hasn't revealed anything on this yet.
Since, it will be just a minor facelift, mechanically the car will be same as the existing version. It will continue to derive its power from the same 2.0-litre TDI turbocharged diesel engine, which pumps out a maximum power output of 138bhp and 320Nm of peak torque. The petrol variants too will retain the same 1.4-litre TSI mill. While the petrol mill comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission gearbox, the diesel has a six-speed manual and a six-speed DSG automatic transmission options.
